TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS
 
 
Official transcripts are available upon request. All transcripts requests must be made in writing, and the appropriate transcript fee must be included.

Transcripts will not be released unless all financial obligations have been met.
 
(Students who have a portal account may view and/or print an unofficial copy of their National-Louis transcript through their personal account at http://my.nl.edu.)
Types of Service for Transcript Requests
 
  • Regular Service transcripts will be mailed or available for pick up on the Wheeling campus 5-7 business days after receipt of the written request.  You may request this service through an online process.
  • Rush Service transcripts will be mailed or available for pick up on the Wheeling campus the next business day after receipt of the written request. (No Rush Service is available if transcript is being held for grades or degree posting.)
  • Same Day Service transcript will be mailed or available for pick up on the Wheeling campus the same day as receipt of the written request. (No Same Day Service is available if transcript is being held for grades or degree posting.)
  • Regular Service with a completion statement transcripts will be mailed or available for pick up on the Wheeling campus approximately 5-7 business days after receipt of the written request, if all grades and academic requirements have been met. (No Rush Service or Same Day Service is available for completion statements.)

How to request a Regular Service Transcript
Transcript will be mailed or available for pickup at the Wheeling campus within 5–7 business days after receipt of the written request.  Processing time may vary if transcript is held for grades or degree posting.
 
$8 each transcript
 
Online, the National Student Clearinghouse now provides online transcript request service for NLU students and alumni.  You may order up to 10 transcripts at one time.  The transcripts will be mailed 1st class to the specified address(es) or held for pick-up at the Wheeling campus.  Your credit card will not be charged until the transcript is put in the mail.  Only transcripts to be sent 'Now' which are not awaiting grades, degree posting, or completion statements will be accepted through the online ordering process.
 
  • Anyone with an active NLU Portal account (all current students and anyone who left the university or graduated after fall term 2003) should use the NLU Portal site: http://my.nl.edu.
  • Alumni or former students without an active NLU Portal account must use the National Student Clearinghouse's secure site.  To order an official transcript, login to the Clearinghouse secure site

How to request a Rush Service Transcript

Transcript will be mailed or available for pickup at the Wheeling campus between 2–5 p.m. the following business day after receipt of the written request.

$10 each transcript

For an additional $10 per location, transcripts can be mailed via UPS Overnight Delivery.  Please note: transcripts sent on Friday with overnight service will be delivered on Monday. UPS cannot deliver to a PO Box.

In person, bring a transcript request and fee Monday – Friday, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to:

  • The Office of Admissions & Records on the 1st floor of the Wheeling campus.
  • A Student Services Center at any National-Louis campus.

By fax, send a transcript request Monday – Friday, before 4 p.m. with credit card information* to:

No Rush Service is available if transcript is being held for grades or degree posting.

How to request a Same Day Service Transcript

Transcript will be mailed or available for pickup at the Wheeling campus on the same business day after receipt of the written request.

$50 for first transcript, $8 for each additional transcript

For an additional $10 per location, transcripts can be mailed via UPS Overnight Delivery.  Please note: transcripts sent on Friday with overnight service will be delivered on Monday. UPS cannot deliver to a PO Box.

In person, bring a transcript request and fee Monday – Friday, between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. to:

How to request Transcripts with Completion Statements


Transcript will be mailed (1st class) or available for pickup at the Wheeling campus within 5–7 business days after receipt of the written request. Processing time may vary if all grade and degree requirements have not been met. Example: All requirements for the [Master of Education] degree have been completed as of [07/20/08]. The degree will be awarded [8/31/08].

$10 each transcript

By mail, send a transcript request and check/money order to:

Students must submit a Diploma and Degree Finalization Request before they can request a completion statement.  Completion statements will not be processed in the two weeks prior to a diploma date.  There is no same day or rush service for completion statements.

Please Note:

      *  Complete the Credit Card Authorization Form (second page of transcript request form) or include written authorization to charge Visa/MasterCard/Discover/American Express.  Include a valid credit card number, expiration date, billing address, and cardholder's signature.

  • Student will have to verify their identification before picking up a transcript.  Please be sure to have a photo I.D.
  • All transcripts given or sent to the student are stamped, "Issued to the Student," even if it is provided in a sealed envelope.  Some institutions will not accept such transcript as official.
  • Transcripts sent to National-Louis University from other colleges and high schools cannot be duplicated.  These transcripts must be requested directly from the institution where the degree or credit was earned.
  • Transcripts cannot be ordered by phone or email. 
  • We use a security transcript paper which cannot be copied.  Transcripts cannot be faxed.
