COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Courses descriptions can be obtained in two main ways:
LOCATING DESCRIPTIONS IN PAST AND CURRENT CATALOGSCourse descriptions are located in the catalogs based on course level and college affiliation. Catalogs have a separate section for each college. The course descriptions appear at the end of the college section with which they are affiliated.
For example, LAE 101, "English Composition I," is a lower undergraduate level course offered through the College of Arts and Sciences. Its course description appears at the end of the College of Arts and Sciences section in the undergraduate catalog or combined undergraduate and graduate catalog, depending on the catalog year.
Current catalogs are available online. Past catalogs are available for photocopying in the University Library on the North Shore campus. Library business hours can be found here.
REQUESTING DESCRIPTIONS THROUGH THE TRANSCRIPT DEPARTMENT
To request a copy of a course description through the Transcript Department, complete the following Course Description Request form and submit it with the appropriate fee. (Course descriptions will be photocopies of the same catalog page or pages described above.)
Descriptions for 1-10 courses will cost $10 for the first description and $3 for each additional description requested at the same time. Descriptions for 11 or more courses requested at the same time will cost $40 total. Processing time for requests is 5-7 business days.
