Illinois Student Aid Funding Alert

TO: All NLU Students, Faculty and Staff

Time is running short, please telephone, fax or email your state represenatives and state senators today and urge them to protect the Financial Assistance Act and to restore funding for the 5th Year MAP (Monetary Award Program).

Many independent colleges and universities, such as NLU, use the state Financial Assistance Act grants for financial aid and the governor has proposed eliminating this program. Please urge your legislators to restore funding for the FAA program.

Last year the state eliminated funding for the MAP program for 5th Year students. This year we have an opportunity to have some of that funding restored. Urge your legislators to FIGHT to restore 5th Year MAP, it is important to NLU students and non-traditional students everywhere.
