Master of Education (M.Ed.)/Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) in Mathematics Education
Program Description:
Mathematics Education (M.Ed.; C.A.S.), is designed to help PK-8 teachers develop professionally as classroom teachers of mathematics and become teacher-leaders in their schools and districts. Teachers in this program will be educated to assist other teachers to teach mathematics conceptually, manage classrooms with large differences in abilities, conduct a variety of staff development activities, and participate in school-wide decisions about the mathematics curriculum.
How You Will Learn:
Mathematics Education is taught using a cohort model, which means you will go through the program with the same group of 12-20 students. NLU graduates like the cohort model because of the support and friendships provided by their fellow students throughout the program.
Where You Can Take the Program:
At partnering schools in the community.
