Program Description:
The NLU Educational Specialist post-master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed to give you the qualifications necessary to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
The NLU Certificate of Advanced Study post-master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed for those of you who are professional school psychologists and educators and leads to Type 73 certification.
The NLU master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed to prepare you for the post-master’s Ed.S. program—which provides you with qualifications necessary to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Students applying who hold a bachelor's degree may apply for the master’s program. Students who already hold a master’s in any area of study can apply for the Ed.S. program
How You Will Learn:
Educational Psychology/School Psychology is taught in the traditional model, where students register each term for courses and can take as few or as many as they wish— with faculty advising on the appropriate courses to take at that time.

- How to understand the impact of differences in culturally diverse educational environments.
- How to develop and use problem-solving skills.
- How to merge theories and practices in guidance and counseling.
- How to evaluate personality types.
- How to apply research to the interaction of biological, social, educational and cultural factors at varying education levels.
- A broad understanding of the legal and professional issues in psychology.
- An in-depth knowledge of cognition and learning as a social practice.
