Curriculum and Social Inquiry (Ed.D.)
National College of Education

Program Description:

The NLU doctoral program in Curriculum and Social Inquiry is designed for those of you who are scholar practitioners and who want to assume curriculum leadership positions in schools and other educational communities. You will investigate curriculum issues as they relate to the school, community and society and gain an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical, practical and interdisciplinary dimensions of curriculum study.

How You Will Learn:

Curriculum and Social Inquiry coursework is offered at the Wheeling and Skokie campuses. CSI is not offered in a cohort model, however, classes are small and provide opportunity for support and friendship among fellow students as well as faculty.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to conduct micro- and macro-level analyses of curricula.
  • How to apply knowledge in specialized areas such as reading and language, special education, psychology and technology and education.
  • How to evaluate the theoretical, practical and interdisciplinary dimensions of curricula.

At NLU campuses in Skokie (North Shore) and Wheeling.
