Mathematics & Science
Certification Enhancement Program

The CPS Grades K-5 mathematics and science specialization path
will be based on 12 hours of mathematics coursework
and 12 hours of science coursework.

• Teachers seeking to be “CPS endorsed” in these content areas will be required to complete eight three-hour courses (totaling 24 hours) for a K-5 Combined Specialization in Mathematics and Science.

• Of the eight three-hour courses required for the K-5 Combined Specialization in Mathematics and Science, four courses will be in Mathematics and four courses will be in Science.

• Students may take courses in math and/or science at the same time.

• Coursework will apply toward a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) or, beyond the masters, a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), at National-Louis University.
