- Dr. Leslie Curda and Dr. Kathy Sheridan will be presenting at the Merlot International Conference in Minneapolis on August 8th, 2008. The presentation is titled “Course Redesign: Creating Interactive Scenario and Case –Based Online Courses”
- A NLU New Orleans team of 14 NLU students and alumni /community members (former teachers) are heading to new Orleans to assist the Kindergarten, 5th and 6th grade teachers of KIPP Central City Academy set-up up classrooms and develop lessons for the NOLA August 18 school opening. The team, led by the Early Childhood Education department’s own Karen Roth is leaving on Sunday, August 10 and will be returning Saturday, August 17. August 11 is the first time the teachers and administrators from the KIPP school will be allowed into their newly and completely renovated NOPS building, which is located in the neighborhood known as the projects, near the Superdome. There is much to do in the completely empty classrooms and central library and NLU team members will be there to assist in this endeavor. A blog or website is being developed so that we can all follow their progress on this important service learning trip. Please direct questions to Kroth@nl.edu
