
About Northern Virginia Community College
Since 1965, Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) has been at the heart of metropolitan Washington’s education community. With six campuses, serving over 65,000 students in credit classes and 300,000 participating in workforce-centered certificate, certification and professional development classes, NVCC has become "the community college of choice" for the region. NVCC is now the second largest multi-campus community college in the nation.
A Multi-Campus Community College
As a dynamic, comprehensive two-year institution, NVCC offers education through the Associate Degree in more than 160 programs of study. NVCC has six campuses located in Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, Springfield and Woodbridge; they also offer the Extended Learning Institute, which provides e-learning opportunities. Unique to the College is the state-of-the-art Medical Education Campus-Springfield Campus, providing training and continuing certification programs for workers in the allied health care fields.
Partnership with National-Louis University
NVCC’s partnership with NLU provides NVCC students with a seamless roadmap to completion of a bachelor’s degree. NVCC students who obtain an Associate’s degree in Business can then finish the remainder of their general education requirements at NVCC and then complete their bachelor’s degree at NLU in 12 – 18 months. Specific transfer information can be found at NVCC articulation agreement.
