PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND - Title: Associate Professor
- Education Background: Doctor of Arts in Mathematics (D.A.), University of Illinois at Chicago, 1999. Thesis title: College Quantitative Literacy Approaches and a New Way of Analyzing Functions and Data. In it, I created a discrete calculus with finite difference counterparts to the basic theorems of differential calculus, and used this theory in the design of a prototype precalculus quantitative literacy course.

- Current Research Areas: Mathematics learning, use of computer technologies for learning math (scientific visualization, computer algebra systems, interactive mathematics, online courses); Korean mathematics education; quantitative literacy
