was born in Cookeville, TN and grew just outside of Detroit, MI where my parents moved to find jobs when I was a child. I married in Michigan, and returned to Cookeville with my husband and children only five years ago. I recently celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary and am the mother of three very active (is there any other kind?) teen-agers; Adam, age 19, Amy, age 18 and April, age 16 1/2. I am a "late bloomer" since I did not begin college until the age of 30 when all my children were in school and I began to find time on my hands. I was able to attend college on an academic scholarship when the country began its reform of "displaced homemakers." I am doubtful that I will ever consider myself a career woman even though I love education and plan to continue teaching in some capacity forever. I have multiple hobbies, most of which have been some quasi-business or job function for me since my teens. I sew, quilt, cook, can, read (mostly psychological thrillers) and organize my free time to accommodate my hobbies in true Southern fashion. I believe you always perform better when doing something you love! I am currently the Training and Quality Assurance Director of the newly forming Community Services Agency of middle Tennessee, where I have worked for the last four years. I am energetic and interested in everything (my family calls me nosey) and truly looking forward to meeting my fellow students of the ACE program.
