I was born and raised on the west side of Chicago where I continue to reside. I am also a 42-year old single mom of two wonderful sons (my gifts), with whom I am well pleased. My oldest son and I graduated from college together. He graduated from Ripon College, Ripon, Wisconsin, May 1997. Today he is a Chicago Police Officer, and he proudly wears my star and shield. I graduated from DePaul University’s School for New Learning in June 1997. My youngest son is a sophomore at DePaul. I received my M.P.A. from Roosevelt University.
My work experience for the most part has always entailed direct and indirect contact with people in an environment where I notice how people perceive themselves, as well as how they are perceived. Yet their ways of accomplishing the same goals are different. That is very intriguing to me. As a Human Service Specialist for the City of Chicago, Department of Human Services, my responsibility is to help stabilize indigent people. Working with adults and helping to restore hope is one of the greatest feelings one can receive. In doing so, my passion and desire to assist adults at different levels has increased.
For fun, I walk and run, read, ride my bike, and enjoy driving down the lake enjoying the serenity of the water. I also enjoy my family and friends whom I hold very dear to my heart.
