Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education

NATIONAL-LOUIS UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR of ARTS in EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE)

The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (ECE) program leads to birth through Grade 3 certification. The ECE program provides educational experiences that prepare professionals who support and improve the quality of programs and services for young children, their families, and the community in which they live. In 1887, NLU’s founder Elizabeth Harrison championed the concept of early childhood education by establishing the Chicago Kindergarten Training.

NATIONAL-LOUIS UNIVERSITY (NLU) offers students who complete the prescribed course work at a community college that has a transfer guide with NLU, the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (ECE) with full recognition of the work completed. All required courses in the prescribed program at your community college will apply to the Bachelor’s degree. Students who do not complete the prescribed program at a community college, will have all previous college work evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
