| Welcome from the Dean Dear ISBE/NCATE Team Members,

|
We are proud to share our Institutional Report with you and appreciate your willingness to help us continue to serve our candidates—and especially the children they teach. As I am sure you understand, many faculty and staff were involved in the process that resulted in this report. The preparation of this report was a time for us to review our work, reflect on the progress we have made since our previous review, and contemplate the directions we hope our College will move in our new century.
We are very enthusiastic about our achievements since our last review. We have a highly talented faculty that deeply care about our students and show it in many ways. We have made significant investments in our technology infrastructure since our last visit, and we are using technology in new ways for both administrative and academic purposes. We have a faculty and staff who are deeply committed to diversity—ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, global, abilities—and who are actively teaching and learning about diversity. We are actively recruiting and retaining minority faculty and students, even as we explore new ways to continue to increase our diversity among faculty, staff, and students.
We are particularly enthusiastic about our assessment system which, in a College as complex, disbursed, and large as ours, is a remarkable achievement. We are learning from the data we have gathered so far, and we look forward to continuing to develop our assessment system and learn from the results.
It is an honor for me to serve this College and a pleasure to welcome you to National College of Education and National-Louis University.
Sincerely,
Dean, National College of Education
